Weekend Sale – Mexico Earthquake Fundraiser
Regular Beguiling customers already know how enthused we are about contributing the vintage comics that are on display in the extraordinary “Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters” exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
In the course of the show’s otherwise festive opening week, GDT has asked everyone to consider making a donation in support of earthquake relief in his native Mexico. (In September, the country was devastated by several powerful earthquakes.)
We already have a lot to be thankful about this Thanksgiving, and we’ll be showing our gratitude to GDT and the AGO for their ongoing support by running an in-store fundraiser. This Thanksgiving long weekend, The Beguiling will donate 100% of the sticker price of any one graphic novel purchased Sunday or Monday (Oct 8-9) to Ambulante, Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal’s crowdfunding campaign, and to UNICEF’s relief efforts in Mexico.
That’s right: We’ll be donating the entire value of a (1) graphic novel of your choice purchased on either day to charity. If you’ve been eyeing a new read, now’s the time. Drop by on Sunday or Monday and join us in supporting Mexico earthquake relief!

Come one, come all to FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2016! All three stores are going to be participating in the event this year and each will be offering a different selection of the available comics! In addition, all three stores will be offering a sale of 10% off all in-print comics and graphic novels all day Saturday!
At The Beguiling and Little Island Comics, the event will start at 12pm. The Beguiling will be set-up out in front of the store, and they’ll mostly be offering comics for grown-ups and bestsellers at the shop. Little Island will be set up inside the store, and will be offering all-ages friendly books. The rain-out location for the event is inside Litttle Island for all titles. There will be a limit on the number of titles at each store, TBD on the day of the event!

Starting today, Thursday July 23rd, and continuing through Saturday August 1st, all manga published by Yen Press are “Buy 2, Get the 3rd volume Free*!” This affects all manga volumes that Yen publishes, from the newly-released AWKARD by Svetlana Chmakova, to hits like Yotsuba, Kingdom Hearts, Sword Art Online and Spice and Wolf! We’re pretty excited to be able to offer this to you, and we hope you’re able to take advantage of it!
