Hey there folks!
We don’t normally run full press releases here on the blog, but we also know something special when we see it. Today it was announced that Gord Downie (The Tragically Hip) and Jeff Lemire (Essex County) are spearheading a new multimedia project called The Secret Path. A new album, a graphic novel, and an animated film special converge to tell the story of Chanie Wenjack, and indigenous boy who died running away from a residential school fifty years ago. This is an important project that will be talked about for years to come.
We’re working with the publisher to ensure we’ll have a substantial number of copies of The Secret Path graphic novel available on release day, October 18th, at both The Beguiling and Page & Panel. We’re hoping to put something together with Jeff too (though he may be a little busy!).
