You and I both know that nerds accumulate a LOT of stuff over the years, and sometimes circumstances force them to part with that stuff. For example, I have a bunch of old video game systems that I have been asked to “get rid of”, and a bunch of books that I’m embarrassed to bring into work and sell.
Well luckily, the fine folks at The Friends of The Merril (the awesome non-circulating sci-fi and fantasy collection) have organized a ‘Flea Market’ for me and other nerds like me to get rid of our stuff… to people like you! Come on out and buy my stuff, and the stuff of the other exhibitors! Books, comics, anime, manga, video games, doo-dads, goo-gaws, and so much more! Saturday September 11th, 10am-4pm.

UPDATE: ALL GONE: WHO WANTS TO SEE SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD TONIGHT?!

UPDATE: Sorry folks, all the tickets are now gone! Subscribe to our mailing list if you want chances to win more early tix!

Hey Folks!

We have just received 10 double-passes to see the epic new movie Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, based on the bestselling graphic novels by our good friend Bryan Lee O’Malley, and set and shot in Toronto by the lovely and talented Mr. Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz)… FOR A SCREENING TONIGHT AT 7:30PM!
Short notice, we know! We’d normally do this sort of thing as a contest through our mailing list to thank our most loyal customers… But we’re going to be doing a couple of _those_ contests as well in the weeks to come. So these passes are available first-come, first-served… with one small proviso:
HOW TO GET A PASS: If you’d like a double-pass (that’s one pass, good for two people) to see Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World tonight at 7:30pm, head down to The Beguiling right now and ask for one at the main-floor counter. You must be subscribed to The Beguiling’s e-mail mailing list to qualify. If you’re not–don’t worry! We can subscribe you in-store. First-come, first served. Limit 1 pass per person/group.
Note: Seating is not guaranteed, so get your pass a.s.a.p. and exchange it for actual tickets at the theatre as early as you can to guarantee admission. This _will_ be an insanely busy screening, so show up early. PLEASE do not call the store asking if there are still passes. We will post here on the website when we’re out of passes. And don’t get too upset about missing out tonight, we’ll have at least one more preview-screening contest to come.
