Whether you want to explore the origins of the Golden Age of Marvel Comics, or tour the heights of contemporary French Comics, this Saturday features two fantastic comics events that are sure to please.
Starting at 4:30pm, join us for the launch of FIRE & WATER: Bill Everett, The Sub-Mariner, and The Birth of Marvel Comics, a fantastic new hardcover tome from author Blake Bell and publisher Fantagraphics Books. Blake Bell will be on hand to discuss the book, and we’re very pleased to announce that Bill Everett’s daughter Wendy Everett will be on hand to discuss her father’s fantastic career. Doors will open at 4pm.
Then at 7pm, please join us for Lewis Trondheim, In Conversation and with Live Drawing. This is an incredibly rare and unique opportunity to meet one of the most celebrated cartoonists on the planet, as he discusses his prolific and acclaimed career and creates an original comic in front of the crowd. Trondheim will also be signing and taking questions during the event. Doors will open at 6:30pm.
Both of these fine events will take place at Innis College Town Hall, located at 2 Sussex Avenue at the corner of Sussex and St. George (just south of Bloor Street). These events are completely free to attend, and we invite comics aficionados and newcomers alike to attend.
