GUE_BL_TheVoyageur_CoverCome one, come all, to the official launch of VOYAGEUR, the brand new graphic novel illustrated by Toronto’s own Nick Marinkovich (KENK, Marvel’s When The Hulk Attacks, Underworld, Nightwolf, Impaler), and written and conceived by documentary filmmaker/screenwriter Jeff Sturge (Mayday, Storming Juno, Cold Blood). This party will feature the official debut of the book, there’ll be snacks, and a presentation from the book by the two co-creators! It’s going to be a great time, and a great chance to look into the creative process of graphic novel production and collaboration.  Check out the preview art below!

Our thanks to Publisher Guernica Editions for supporting the launch!

ABOUT VOYAGEUR:

Ireland, the 17th Century. 15 year old Fintan O’Neill is no hero, but he’s doing his best to get by as one of the poorest kids in Ballypole. When his older cousin Rutari, a trouble soldier, arrives in town Fintan’s world is thrown upside down, infused with fiolence, vice, and excitement. Compelling characters drive a fast-paced story set in the 17th century that addresses themes of alienation, a young boy’s coming of age and the strange new world before him. Marinkovich’s signature ink-rendered, photo-based artwork has been heavily stylized to achieve a haunting look. Every detail of this novel has been accurately recreated from over two years of meticulous research.
