NEW IN THE ARTSTORE: BA, O’MALLEY, MOON

Hey Original Art lovers! We’re pleased to announce that following a fruitful convention season, we’ve got a bunch of brand new art in The Beguiling Art Store from some of our favourite creators!

For all of you fans of THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY, Gabriel Ba has provided us with a plethora of pages from THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY and THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY: DALLAS. These two series are written by “My Chemical Romance” frontman Gerard Way, and both will be available in trade paperback soon.

SUGARSHOCK is Fabio Moon‘s collaboration with Buffy creator Joss Whedon, and in addition to its appearances in MySpace Dark Horse Presents, SUGARSHOCK is getting it’s own one-shot this fall! Fabio has provided us with several new pages from the series, as well as the cover art for the one-shot!

And it’s been a long-time coming, but Bryan Lee O’Malley has given us a bunch of pages from his smash-hit series SCOTT PILGRIM, including two of the double-page spreads set at Toronto Reference Library! Plus, a very rare piece of art from the launch party for Scott Pilgrim V1.

We’re also working with a number of other artists including Jeffrey Brown, Sammy Harkham, and Ron Rege Jr. to offer brand new art by them as well. Keep an eye on the blog (and on their artstore pages) for updates!

Thanks,

– Chris @ The Beguiling

Also of note:
– We’re finally getting our reorder of DC Comics’ surprise-hit series Wednesday Comics, which means it will be available for your purchasing pleasure. We’re still going to limit purchases to one per person, as we want to make sure that all of our customers get a crack at them.
– To make sure that we have the books early enough for the Big Marvel 70th Anniversary Party next Tuesday, Marvel and Diamond shipped us “The Marvel Project #1” a week early. It was shipped with explicit instructions to all stores not to sell it before Tuesday, August 11th at 9pm. Since that’s what we were told, and since if we don’t we won’t be able to participate in future events like this, we’re following this rule to the letter. That’s why you’re going to see this book listed on certain shipping lists, and why we’re not selling it until we’re supposed to.
Alright, see ya Wednesday.
