Aaron Costain‘s debut graphic novel ENTROPY came out from Secret Acres earlier this year & now we have a selection of original art from it for you to take home, put in a frame and look at lovingly!

Zach Worton recently released both THE WEIRD WORLD OF LAGOOLA GARDNER and THE CURSE OF CHARLEY BUTTERS and we have a selection of art from both of them and it is BEAUTIFUL!

GIRLS WITH SLINGSHOTS signing with creator Danielle Corsetto July 5!

The Beguiling is happy to announce that on Thursday, July 5th, Danielle Corsetto, creator of the legendary comic GIRLS WITH SLINGSHOTS, will be joining us in our events space for a signing to celebrate the release of THE COMPLETE GIRLS WITH SLINGSHOTS from Iron Circus Comics!

Danielle will be on hand Thursday, July 5th from 5PM until 8PM signing books for fans, and The Beguiling will have copies of the brand-new collection available for purchase! WOW!

About Girls With Slingshots:

Danielle Corsetto’s Girls with Slingshots debuted in September of 2004, and ran for over 10 years, winning a Reuben Award, publishing thousands of strips, and gaining thousands upon thousands of loyal readers. By the time of the comic’s grand finale in March of 2015, GwS was one of the biggest names in online comics, with countless fans visiting daily to read about the lives, loves and adventures of Hazel, Jamie, and their friends.
As the strip’s popularity grew, TEN softcover collections were compiled. But after ten years of printing and reprinting, half of the volumes are sold out or hard to find. So, now that GwS has seen its last update, it’s time to send this legend of a comic strip off in the collection it deserves.

Georgia Webber “Dumb” launch event!

Thursday June 14th at 7PM, The Beguiling welcomes creator Georgia Webber in-store to help launch her new book DUMB from Fantagraphics! This event will also serve as the opening of a show of the art from Dumb in The Beguiling’s Gallery Space!

Georgia will be doing a performance/reading from her work and we’ll also have an onstage interview, a chance to ask Georgia some questions and, of course, get your copy of Dumb signed!

MAY 30TH: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #800 SIGNING WITH STUART & KATHRYN IMMONEN!

The Beguiling is thrilled to announce a spectacular, sensational, frankly amazing signing as we welcome powerhouse comics couple STUART & KATHRYN IMMONEN to the store on Wednesday, May 30! Their first public appearance/signing in three years is to celebrate the release of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #800 from Marvel Comics!
Stuart & Kathryn’s credits almost don’t need to be listed—besides THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, Stuart has been the artist on such books as STAR WARS, NEXTWAVE, EMPRESS, and FEAR ITSELF; Kathryn has been the writer on such great titles as RUNAWAYS, SIF: JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY, AGENT CARTER and PATSY WALKER: HELLCAT. If that weren’t enough, together the Immonens have also created the books RUSSIAN OLIVE TO RED KING, MOVING PICTURES and NEVER AS BAD AS YOU THINK. Their work crosses genres and styles and demonstrates that regardless of the format, they are masterful creators in any form of comics.
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #800 is not only a milestone comics event but also marks the end of Stuart’s run on the title, so it’s the perfect occasion to welcome the Immonens at our new location. For this event The Beguiling will also be donating $5 from the sale of each copy of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #800 to the Immonens’ chosen charity, Trails Youth Initiative (http://www.trails.ca/programme)! Now THAT is Amazing!
This comic has a cover price of $9.99 US, or roughly $13 CDN, but pre-ordered copies will be sold at $10 CDN. On the day-of, copies of the regular ASM #800 cover will be priced at CAD$12.
Due to the fact that the current run of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN has been selling out on day of release, and the sheer number of special variant covers for this issue, we will be taking pre-orders to help make sure you get the covers you want. While we will be taking pre-orders right up to the event, if you are looking for one of the variant covers please visit our website/see below for details on how to order.
Additional issues of  Amazing Spider-Man will be available the day of release, but cannot be pre-ordered.
Stuart and Kathryn will both be on hand to sign copies of their work, with in-store purchase. Head sketches will be available with the day-of purchase of TPB and HC books as well as on sketch covers of Amazing Spider-Man #800.
 Please note: Stuart will not be doing convention or commission-level sketches, NO EXCEPTIONS.
The signing begins at 5PM. Don’t miss out on your chance to get a signed copy of the hottest issue of the year and support a good cause while you do it!

A comics collection by Canadian cartoonist, painter, and illustrator Fiona Smyth. Over thirty years of comics that feature Fiona’s world of sexy ladies, precocious girls, and vindictive goddesses is revealed in all its feminist glory. This is recommended reading for sleepwalkers on a female planet.

FIONA SMYTH is a Toronto based painter, educator, illustrator, and cartoonist. Her feminist artwork has exhibited internationally. MICHAEL COMEAU works on the wall, the print sheet and the page. Creating window displays and paste-up murals utilizing generations of street posters he created for parties, gigs, etc. His comic trilogy Hellberta won the Doug Wright award for experimental comics in 2012.”
